Over 200 pounds of textiles have been diverted from landfills so far—and that is only the beginning of the KUMA Re-Discover Project. Lordco's distribution network and massive delivery fleet are helping the KUMA Re-Discover Project expand from Alberta into British Columbia.
The Re-Discover Project is an innovative upcycling program. Through the project, KUMA camping chairs, gazebos, and tents that have reached their end of life are refashioned into tote bags and log carriers, giving new life to textiles that would have ended up in landfills.
Like most successful upcycling programs, the Re-Discover Project brings onboard partners who share its vision and want to make an impact. Katrina Hillyer of Earth Warrior in Edmonton, Alberta, is a KUMA project partner and the wizard transforming outdoor gear into everyday lifestyle items. Through the partnership, the project has diverted hundreds of pounds of textile waste from landfills.
With Lordco as its logistical partner, the project now has access to a distribution network spanning large and small communities in British Columbia and Alberta and the opportunity to make an even more positive environmental impact.
Lordco will play a vital role in the program's expansion into British Columbia by collecting end-of-life KUMA outdoor gear and transporting it to Earth Warrior in Edmonton, along with other products bound for its retail locations in Airdrie, Calgary, Edmonton, and Red Deer, Alberta.
It's a win-win for the outdoor and camping industry, Earth Warrior and KUMA's Re-Discover Project.
