Hex Head Cap Screws are used to secure an object within or against another object. They are recognized with specific features like tighter tolerances and a chamfered end with a washer face under the head. The bare metal finish (non-plated) is ideal for indoor use or where corrosion is not a concern. Grade 8 screws, recognized by six radial bars, are made from quenched and double heat-treated medium carbon alloy steel for maximum strength in demanding applications like heavy-duty machinery.

  • These bolts undergo a heat treatment process consisting of quenching (rapid cooling from a high temperature) and tempering (reheating to a lower temperature and then cooling) to achieve their high strength and toughness. Double heat treated.
  • Made from medium carbon steel. Grade 8 fasteners are heat treated and are high strength fasteners. Use with Grade 8 nuts and washers to develop full strength of the cap screw.
  • Tensile Strength: 150,000 p.s.i. (min)
  • Available in UNC (Coarse) or UNF (Fine) threads with fully threaded or partially threaded lengths.
