The Calgary-based diesel repair and performance shop builds serious machines for its customers and to represent its brand, but this truck stands out, not only for its height, but its rarity.

Mercury badging and chrome grill aside, the details and surprising styling choices make this truck truly special. Turn signals are fashioned from connecting rods, exhaust pipes are secured by timing chains welded to the rear fender, intentionally weathered Radical Diesel door panel decals fade into the body’s rusty red and brown tones—the truck is full of unexpected additions that add to its rebellious nature. 

It looks menacing but rides like a dream, barreling over blacktop and challenging surfaces smoothly thanks to Firestone airbags and Fox Racing shocks. Knowing the truck's height would make the hood heavy and awkward to manually open. Kevin, a pragmatic builder, outfitted the Mercury with a hydraulic lift system.

From the start of this build, Kevin knew he wanted to create something rugged yet clean. From this concept, Radical Diesel's Cummins-powered, coal-rolling beast was born. The pickup howls while gaining speed. Like any powerful creature on the move, it’s heard before it is seen. Sit behind the wheel and you will feel its desire to be in motion. The Mercury’s organic shape may remind you of bygone days, but its motor is a gift from the future. It could pull a house down—then thunder down the highway without missing a beat.
