With the help of Kelly Geoghegan of Full Spectrum Automotive in Kamloops, Lachlan developed his skills and confidence over the years.

“I'd never done any body work or welding before, but I wanted to learn how to get rid of some rust to make it solid," explained Lachlan. “After getting some advice from Kelly and grinding and teaching myself to weld in my driveway, Kelly saw my ambition and offered to teach me how to take it to the next level.”  

Throughout the process, Lachlan relied heavily on Lordco Auto Parts for “the best customer service and quick parts supply.” Lordco played a key role in parts and supplies to bring the build together, from body panels to paint, and a Magnaflow muffler that “makes it sound fast!”

Under the hood, the truck retains its classic Ford 300 inline-six engine paired with a 4-speed manual 4x4 drivetrain. The exterior is where Lachlan’s dedication is most apparent. Finished in a Shopline JBX #1 base clear two-tone with a painted pinstripe, the truck blends vintage style with a custom touch.

Lachlan’s attention to detail didn’t stop there. Getting the stance just right became its own challenge.

“I'm very detail-oriented, so it took a long time to get the stance perfect, as I didn't want it to look like an aggressive off-road truck. Had to go to 16" wheels to get the tall skinny 255/85r16 tires, needed a specific wheel offset to keep the tires inside the fenders, and a 4-inch suspension lift to get the height right."

Ask Lachlan what the most difficult part of the build was, and he’ll tell you it was learning everything from scratch. But that was also the most rewarding part of the journey. Every weld, every panel, every adjustment, it all added up to something uniquely his.

As for what’s next? Again, he keeps it simple: “I'm happy to drive this truck for the next 40 years, and if it ends up in the same condition as when I originally bought it, I'll be completely fine with that.”
