Japanese Imports Pop Up at Lordco
The distinctive brap, brap, brap of a half-bridged 13B rotary echoed off the walls of Lordco Auto Parts' three-storey head office and distribution centre. Japanese imports were rolling in.
A steady stream of vehicles filled the parking lot. To get the best presentation, drivers backed in at an angle, creating neat rows of late ’80s, early ’90s, and modern Japanese machines.
Drivers and passengers spilled out, the air buzzing with anticipation. They came for Checkpoint Japan's annual Pop-up Shop but stayed for hours—meeting fellow enthusiasts, browsing vendors, and soaking up the music.
Checkpoint Japan’s pop-up has become a summer staple and the go-to spot for imported Japanese goods—steering wheels, seats, automotive magazines, clothing, wheels, and collectibles. This year’s event was the first hosted in Lordco’s large lot. Even with 300 spaces, the turnout exceeded expectations and overflow parking was needed nearby.
Approximately 1,200 people attended the show on Saturday, August 17, from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM. Eighty8 RC Hobbies and Motul were on site as well—Eighty8 with their drift RC setup, and Motul showcasing its products for both classic and modern imports.
Lordco Auto Parts sponsors many automotive events from May through September, but Pop-up Shop 4 stood out. Unlike traditional custom and classic car shows, this event drew a younger crowd.
Millennials and Gen Z turned up in force, proving the passion for Japanese imports bridges generations.
Events like these remind us that car culture isn’t just about machines—it’s about the community that grows around them.

Whether you’re building a show car, a track weapon, or just keeping your daily driver sharp, Lordco has the parts to keep your project moving.
