True Grit
Some classic car owners can handle a little dirt on shiny paint. Some cannot. Rob quickly revealed which side of the fence he was sitting on. He was more than accommodating when approached with a last-minute add-on photo shoot location on a hardpan road littered with small stones.

But then Rob waited 25 years to get a chance at restoring his 1971 Oldsmobile 442 W-30. He had a quarter-century's worth of practice in patience and perseverance.
When Rob was ready to begin restoring the Olds, he was sure of two things: He would return it to its original colour, and the car would be much more than a garage queen. He would drive the iconic muscle car every chance he got. This kind of grit is hard to capture in photos, but the intersection of twilight and a chance discovery of a groomed gravel road created the ideal moody atmosphere.
The setting sun bounces scattered light across the vibrant metallic paint, highlighting the functional air scoops of the air-induction hood—an original W-30 component—and distinctive rear quarter panels. The road fades into the backdrop, letting the 442 take charge. It knows its role in this shoot.

The vehicle's shiny W-30 badging refers to the Olds' performance legacy.
The low rumbles of the engine escape the all-original chassis, filling the air with sounds from an automotive era obsessed with building the most powerful muscle cars.
It is easy to understand Rob's deep attachment to the Olds. He dreamed of what it could be for a long time and made that dream come true.

He's at ease, enjoying the drive, the dirt, and any adventure that comes his way.
