Red Line 20W50 Motor Oil ramps up to temp quickly and fights off the extreme conditions. It is popular in turbocharged applications; made for wider bearing clearances and racing engines that see occasional street use; has 25% more viscosity than petroleum 20W-50s; is not recommended for use in cold climates (-20°C/-5°F for 20W50); and is recommended for API SN/SM/SL/SJ/SH/SG and ACEA A3.This specific viscosity is for BMW M-cars, but with PAO/Ester/Zinc unlike other brands. This fully-synthetic ester formula for passenger cars, light trucks, performance vehicles, and marine applications is designed to provide the highest protection, efficiency, and cleanliness, as well as superior drain intervals. It has excellent wear protection and friction reduction across a wide range of operating conditions. The high detergency allows extended drain intervals and provides increased cleanliness, while the improved fuel economy and ring seal allow for more power.
