The Hypertherm 428951 Cartridge Torch Adapter enables compatible legacy Powermax plasma systems to use Hypertherm’s single-piece cartridge consumables instead of traditional multi-part consumable stacks. Designed for use with specified Duramax and Duramax Lock torches, the adapter provides a practical upgrade path to the cartridge platform without requiring a SYNC power supply.

The adapter is intended for repeated cartridge changes and supports multiple cutting and gouging applications, depending on the cartridge selected. It adds approximately 0.69" (17.5 mm) to the torch’s operational length.
