On certain Tesla Model X SUVs, the front upper left control arm can crack and separate from the steering knuckle, often without warning and under normal driving conditions. This can cause a sudden and unexpected loss of steering control. The original equipment design also uses a plastic cap over the ball joint that tends to trap moisture accumulation. That can cause an increasingly frequent creaking sound in the vehicle's front end and ultimately cause the joint to fail. Unlike the Tesla plastic arm assembly, our upgraded arm design prevents stress cracks and knuckle separation by utilizing a much stronger forged steel ball joint housing with a stamped steel arm attached by sturdy rivets.
