The Hypertherm 220818 Duramax Drag-Cutting Shield is a replacement torch consumable designed for handheld plasma cutting. It helps protect the torch while allowing the operator to maintain close contact with the workpiece during drag cutting. Compatible with Duramax and Duramax Lock torch systems, it is used with the appropriate cutting nozzle, electrode, retaining cap, and swirl ring. The shield supports applications up to 85A; Powermax105 systems require a different shield for 85–105A cutting.

Compatible machines and torch configurations:
• Powermax45 XP — Compatible Duramax Lock handheld torch; 45A drag-cutting configuration.
• Powermax65 — Compatible Duramax handheld torch; drag cutting up to 65A.
• Powermax85 — Compatible Duramax handheld torch; drag cutting up to 85A.
• Powermax105 — Compatible Duramax handheld torch; drag cutting up to 85A with shield 220818. For 85–105A, use shield 220992 with the corresponding consumables.
