The Hypertherm 220817 Mechanized Cutting Shield is a replacement consumable designed to protect the plasma torch and work area during mechanized plasma cutting. It is used with compatible Duramax and Duramax Lock machine-torch configurations to support consistent cutting performance across a range of amperages. The shield is part of the complete consumable assembly and must be matched with the appropriate nozzle, electrode, retaining cap, and swirl ring for the selected cutting process.

Compatible machines and torch configurations
• Powermax45 XP — Duramax Lock machine torch; mechanized cutting configurations up to 45A.
• Powermax65 — Duramax machine and mini-machine torches; mechanized cutting configurations up to 65A.
• Powermax85 — Duramax machine, mini-machine, and robotic torches; mechanized cutting configurations up to 85A.
• Powermax105 — Duramax machine, mini-machine, and robotic torches; mechanized cutting configurations up to 85A with this shield. The 85–105A configuration uses shield 220993 instead.
